About Southern Lightning Engineers
From its formation in 1977, Southern Lightning Engineers Limited has grown to become one of the largest and most respected companies working in the field of Lightning Protection in the South of England. We are approved contractors to most local authorities, many National bodies and major civil engineers as well as carrying out work for leading architects, specifiers and building service companies. We offer a design and installation service of Lightning Protection to all types of buildings and structures.

Unquestionably the common purpose is total client satisfaction – no other standard is acceptable!
To achieve this we constantly up-date our knowledge of new technology and give the same attention to training our workforce over the whole spectrum: from initial estimating and tendering to final installation and contract support.
Personal responsibility throughout the company ensures total commitment from everyone on each and every project.
DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT TEAMS
Commercial experience combined with the latest computer techniques allows our design team to produce not only sets of working drawings but fully documented calculations and illustrative graphics.
The effectiveness of the management team is evident at every stage. Close liaison with the client ensures that various requirements are evaluated and interpreted to a satisfactory conclusion. The design team monitor all projects through to final commissioning as a matter of course.
Every project is invariably unique with its own problems. The wealth of experience contained in the various teams, be they design, installation or management ensures a satisfactory result.
When safety and property are at risk, clients of Southern Lightning Engineers can be assured that they have the very best people at hand for this vital work.
SITE MANAGEMENT
Contract management negotiates the supply of all material required for a contract, using suppliers of proven capability. The Site Foreman is then responsible for ensuring that materials are called up and are on the site so as to permit the planned progress of the installation.
On all major contracts we prefer to appoint a Project Manager and supporting team on-site. In this way we can monitor progress and liaise with relevant personnel, both on-site and at head office.
TRAINING AND SAFETY
Training is given to established staff by involving them on outside courses and by instruction both in the office and on-site. We regularly up-date our “individual performance” files which ensures that the quality level of our staff is never allowed to drop.
