It is supplied random in both length and height with standard dimension of between l00mm - 125mm.
Lengths from 100mm - 350mm Heights from 75mm - l50mm.
Typical use: Generally used in outer skin cavity wall construction

Dry stone walling is hand selected to ensure a consistent quality.
Stones are irregular in shape, vary in size and range in thickness from 50mm - 100mm.
Typical use: Boundry / garden and ornamental walls generally constructed with no mortar.

Due to the durability of the ''Top Bed'' stone this is suitable for most types of landscaping.
It is suggested that a quarry visit be necessary to select one's own personal individual requirements.
It must be stressed that as this product is laid directly onto the ground and as all limestones are composed of stratified layers they should be laid on their natural bedding plane to prolong lifetime.


Taken from a particular seam in the quarry known as ''Top Bed'' has an abundance of seashell content, which makes this product extremely attractive. Generally sawn in sizes of 400-500- 600mm widths, 25mm in depth and in random lengths upto 1 metre. These measurements can easily be varied to meet individual requirements. The stone is buffed by hand to remove any sawn marks, leaving a nice smooth finish.

These units are sawn and then either hand finished in this form or carved and dressed to any shape specified. Master masons will work directly from drawings and written order must be received before any work is carried out.
Typical uses : cills, lintels, coping, date stones, chimney dressings and caps, spheres and finials, cornice, mullion windows, label moulding etc.

We can provide bespoke hand carved fire surrounds out of our White or Shelly bed stone.
Sizes are made to measure with all masonry work carried out with our master masons.
