Doug Booth founded his company in 1969 (having reached the position of senior draftsman with a long-established manufacturer of shot-blast cleaning equipment) to fulfil his own ambition of owning a company based upon solid-engineering principles. Initially operating from his own home, before moving into industrial premises in Horbury (1976), he expanded further into the current premises (1991) in Church Street, Ossett, West Yorkshire.

From humble beginnings has come a European leader in "reborn" shot-blast plant. Recognising that users were becoming increasingly aware that new plant did not have the robust build-quality of the equipment it was replacing, Doug Booth (UK) Ltd built a formidable reputation for taking the best of "retired" machines and completely rebuilding them to include all the contemporary requirements of a modern machine.

The machines supplied meet all current standards, and due to the contemporary nature of the parts used, all replacement-ware parts are easily available from the company.

Reborn Shot Blast Machines
In most cases a factory-rebuilt and -refurbished shot blast machine is a better option to buying a new machine. Why? Because new machines from leading manufactures are generally built down to a price (to win the order) and sold for little profit.

These machines are revenue generators, utilising fully patented consumable part designs, allowing the manufacturer to have a monopoly on spares supply and to name their price - usually up to 5 times that of non patent parts, leaving you, the customer, without freedom of choice.

Newborn Shot Blast Machines

Having spent over 40 years expertly rebuilding and upgrading machines from manufacturers all over the globe, our insight into what works, and why, is invaluable to our operation in optimising designs, resulting in the best machines in the world.

Our primary objective is to ensure the highest durability with the lowest-operating costs, utilising non-patent multi-source consumables. The result is a low-maintenance machine, built to handle whatever the customer can throw at it, with parts available off the shelf in the UK.

Dust Collectors/LEV Testing
Dust extraction and collection is an essential requirement of all automated shot blast machines/hand cabinets and blast rooms.

Doug Booth (UK) Ltd hold an extensive stock of reborn dust collectors in a variety of capacities suitable for almost every application. Determining the correct capacity is an essential element for the correct functioning of any shotblasting equipment, and the expertise provided will ensure the performance matches customer requirements.

Both sleeve type and cartridge type systems are available, and we will advise which is the best solution for a particular application. Both are provided with automatic cleaning, with dust deposited into a receptacle for safe disposal. All reborn dust collectors are fitted with new filter media and replacements are commonly available.

The special materials used in the original parts are far superior to some of the cheaper copy parts available on the UK market, and always cheaper in the long run when considering machine down time. We have manuals, drawings and electrical diagrams for just about every shot blast machine in the country.

Our service/technical team is based upon ex-Spencer & Halstead Group specialist engineers, with two members of the team holding over 80 years experience between them, so it would be fair to say that we have seen most issues during that time! Our knowledge extends far beyond Spencer & Halstead machines, however, and includes all OEM machines.

Our service teams are supported by one of the largest stocks of spare parts in the UK. At a time when UK OEM’s have reduced their stock of spare parts or moved to eastern European warehousing, we provide a greatly appreciated local supply.
