We offer the most comprehensive concrete product service in the UK, providing a range of precast concrete products including; balconies, beam & block flooring, bespoke concrete products, silage clamps, ground beams, hollowcore flooring, insulated flooring, helical stairs, sea defences, custom stairs & landings and stadia products.
Our manufacturing facilities, offices and transport hub are located near Colchester on the border between Essex and Suffolk, in the UK. With the A12, M11 and M25 all nearby, we are well positioned to offer a competitive concrete products service to London & the Home Counties, East Anglia and the South East. Alongside our flagship prefabricated concrete products, we supply an array of specialist concrete products including; spiral stairs, bespoke precast, stadia etc. and can supply our products to most parts of the UK.
About Precast Concrete
Precast concrete is the most commonly used building material in the world and a wide variety of products are available including flooring beams and slabs, walls, panels, balconies, staircases and more.
Milbank concrete is always perfectly mixed and offers superior strength and durability to traditional wet concrete. It is quicker than in-situ mould construction and pouring and can be made into any shape. It is fireproof and is tough and durable with excellent exposure properties. It is wholly resistant to insect, pests, vermin attacks, fungus and mildew. It is completely recyclable and all precast units can be re-used in their entirety at the end of their life. Products
Hollowcore Floors
Milbank Hollowcore floors are prestressed concrete units with tubular voids extending the full length of the slab creating an efficient lightweight unit. This makes the slab much lighter than other floor slabs of equal thickness or strength. Reduced weight lowers transportation costs and saves on the cost of the material. They are typically used in the construction of upper floors in apartments/flats, commercial buildings and larger houses. Milbank hollowcore floors are available in 150mm, 200mm and 250mm deep units.
Beam & Block Flooring
There are many benefits to using a beam & block flooring system, the biggest of which being it is fast, cheap and simple to install with no special skills required. Our concrete beams come in 155mm and 225mm deep prestressed options and are available in lengths of 1-6m in 50mm increments. By varying the concrete beam centres during construction this kind of concrete flooring offers a quick and economical solution for a wide range of problems both at ground and upper floor levels. Milbank carry a permanent stock of over 25,000m of concrete beams in varying lengths but can quickly manufacture concrete beams to order.
Warmfloor Pro
WarmFloor Pro from Milbank Concrete Products represents a compelling alternative to the present market-leader. A cost-effective way to rapidly lay a thermally-insulated concrete ground floor, with lower construction costs at the outset and improved energy savings. As a high-quality alternative to a standard beam-and-block floor, WarmFloor Pro ticks all the boxes. WarmFloor Pro insulated concrete flooring (ICF) works by combining rigid insulation modules (EPS blocks) manufactured from lightweight closed-cell expanded polystyrene which is then laid in between our pre-stressed concrete beams (either 155mm or 225mm deep) and finished with an EPS top sheet, membrane and concrete screed.

Milbank’s ‘Kallisto’ division deliver another impressive stair
Milbank are proud to introduce Kallisto Stairs – a new concept in the United Kingdom for precast concrete curved stair design. Kallisto’s expertise has been commissioned for luxury staircase installations in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK, working with architects, engineers and designers to produce stunning, durable precast concrete spiral staircase installations.
Work has now completed at the St Helen’s School of Music in Northwood, Middlesex. The distinctive brick and terracotta-clad building houses classrooms, individual and group practice rooms, a music technology suite, recording studio and a dedicated performance space.
Working with IID Architects, Kallisto Stairs (the luxury precast concrete helical stair division of Milbank Concrete Products) provided a stunning precast concrete helical feature stair that can be seen through the glass entrance, stretching the height of the building over two floors

Milbank sponsor Services to Disability Sports award at active Essex 2018
Congratulations to all that took awards at this years Braintree District Council Active Essex Active Braintree Sports awards 2018 ceremony.
We were more than delighted to sponsor the ‘Services to Disability Sports’ award once again (for the 2nd year running), awarding ‘Sport for Confidence’ who run a sporting scheme at Witham Leisure Centre for those with learning and physical disabilities.
Sport for Confidence is a unique, pioneering and multi-award-winning organisation, which supports people who face barriers to participation to get involved in a variety of sporting activities in mainstream settings.
This unique partnership between leisure centres and local sports clubs sees occupational therapists and health professionals working directly with sports coaches and staff, to make adjustments that create truly accessible sport and leisure opportunities.

Belton Hills Steps project completes in Leigh-on-sea
A new set of steps costing £1.4million have been completed through the Belton Hills Nature Reserve, Leigh-on-Sea.
Working with Marlborough Surfacing Ltd in conjunction with fellow Milbank Group company Sui Generis International Ltd, we provided over 450 tonnes worth of precast concrete step units with specialist anti-slip GRP nosings cast into the concrete steps. The major engineering project involved replacing the steps, paths and lighting on a main route for commuters using Leigh Train Station.
Councillor Lesley Salter, said:
“We are delighted to re-open the steps and make that route accessible again for members of the public. With the evenings drawing in, it is important we have been able to provide a safe and well-lit route for commuters and residents alike. We must thank our contractor, Marlborough, who have worked hard to ensure that the works were completed on time and in a professional manner. The new steps look fantastic and I am sure residents and commuters will agree.”
The work began in April after the steps had become dangerous to use. Years of ground movement in the cliffs, the age of the steps and harsh weather conditions led Southend Council to decide the time had come for replacements.
They officially opened on Thursday 1st November after a total of 430 steps had been installed, nearly a mile of handrails put in place and more than 450 tonnes of concrete poured together with brand new LED lighting. For the next few weeks the contractor for the project will be on site clearing the works compound.
This project is a fantastic example of the bespoke capabilities Milbank Concrete offer to their customers. Their expertise of precast concrete stairs and ability to design bespoke moulds to suit exact clients needs allows them to continue to dominate the precast concrete industry.
