About David Williams Golf Design
Welcome to David Williams Golf Design
David Williams Golf Design offers a complete integrated solution to golf design projects. With over 25 years’ experience in golf course design, the practice has been involved in over 200 completed projects, with direct involvement in over 30 new golf courses constructed in Britain and throughout Europe in the last 20 years.
We specialise in:
The practice undertakes work generally in the name of its principal, David Williams, who has built 20 new golf courses in his own name during the last 15 years. He also serves as Consultant Golf Course Architect to PGA European Tour Chairman and leading British golfer Neil Coles, in his golf design practice, Neil Coles & Associates, as well as collaborating with other leading professionals in their design companies.
New Golf Course Design
David Williams Golf Design designs new courses throughout Europe, from basic 9 hole par 3 or starter courses, to full Championship layouts. With a reputation of building all courses on time and within budget, and offering a complete integrated solution, DWGD have gained many repeat orders from clients, confident that their financial and project aspiration will be realised.
Golf Course Renovation
Increasingly, many forward-thinking clubs are realising that the proper way forward to advance their course into the new decade is to obtain the services and advice from independent, qualified, experienced golf course architects and agronomists.
For too long, most clubs have been altered or ‘improved’ by a succession of unqualified Greens Chairmen, or even Captains, whose aim during their period of office appears to be to create a memento of that period in effecting changes to the layout.
Golf Course Consultancy
As well as their role in designing new courses and assisting existing clubs in course renovation and alterations, golf course architects are also often involved giving consultancy advice on other aspects of golf course development.
In this context, David Williams Golf Design has been involved over the past few years in a number of varied and demanding projects, ranging from countrywide searches for possible golf course sites to assisting a national tax authority in the tax aspects of golf course maintenance.
