Established in 1977 by its Managing Director Mr. Paddy Murray, Murray Timber Group has grown to become one of the largest, most progressive and flexible sawmills in Ireland. The company continues to invest in state-of-the-art sawmilling equipment to satisfy customer requirements.

The Group supplies products to the construction, garden and fencing, and packaging markets in both Ireland and the U.K. The Group currently processes in excess of 400,000m3 of Round Logs annually, and employs 135 people directly with many more employed indirectly.

Construction Timber
Our timber is used extensively within the construction industry. It is used both in traditional building and timber frame structures, constructed both onsite and offsite. Our timber is used across all sectors, refurbishments and extensions as well as new builds.

Murray Timber Group is the first Irish sawmill to offer planed all over, eased edge construction timber as standard. This raises the bar on quality and presentation to an unprecedented level. Kiln-dried timber from Murray Timber Group is graded according to NSAI (www.nsai.ie) standards and regularised after the drying process to ensure maximum uniformity and quality of our product.

Garden Decking
We supply the full range of timber components required to build a deck, from the support timber through to the hand rail.

All our decking components are pressure treated using green coloured wood preservative known as Tanalith E. Decking is also available on request in a brown coloured wood preservative known as Tanatone.

Timber Fencing
Murray Timber Group provides quality fencing products to the Irish and UK Markets. We supply post and rail of various lengths and dimensions. The posts are available as pointed, weathered or square. Our fencing range includes weathered top, round top, picket fence and square top planed boards.

All our fencing timber is pressure treated using green coloured wood preservative known as Tanalith E. Our fencing timber is also available on request in a brown coloured wood preservative known as Tanatone.

Pallet & Packaging
Murray Timber Group is a major supplier to pallet manufacturers that operate in the Irish and UK Markets. We supply an extensive range of products in different sizes and various grades to suit the customer's requirements. Our products include Air Dried, Heat Treated and Heated Treated/Kiln Dried.

The Group is ISPM 15 certified to supply Heat Treated and Kiln Dried products.

Pressure Treated Timber
Murray Timber Group use purpose built industry leading treatment facilities to pressure treat our timber to the highest standards. Our supplier of wood preservative and treatment expertise are Arch Timber Protection. They provide us procedures for using their wood preservative and closely monitor that it is done in accordance with these procedures. Our timber is treated in accordance with BS 8417.

Arch Timber Protection specialises in the development and supply of innovative protection products to meet stringent industry and regulatory demands. The EPA consider Tanalith E treated timber off-cuts to be non-hazardous for disposal.

The two types of pressure treated timbers we offer are TANALISED E and TANATONE. TANALISED E has a natural pale green colouration, whilst TANATONE has a built-in rich brown tone.
