Crendon Timber Engineering has announced the appointment of Alex McLeod as its new Managing Director (MD).
He will take over the position following the retirement of Philip Bell after 38 years of service with the company.
Mr McLeod brings a wide-ranging expertise in green building products to Crendon, having been MD of St Gobain Isover and CEO of Superglass.
Crendon states his experience in growing markets for leading edge building products matches the company's ambition to increase its timber engineered roof and floors business.
"The market for engineered timber roof trusses has grown by 12% in the past year," Mr McLeod said.
"Crendon's sales have expanded well over and above market performance. With the agility to respond both locally and nationally to our housebuilding customers, we are looking to develop our reputation further as the developer's first choice for timber engineered solutions."
Crendon recently opened its sixth and seventh roof truss manufacturing plants in Exeter and Bridgend as part of a nationwide expansion.

Planning permission has been granted for a University Technical College (UTC) in east London.
The college, designed by LSI Architects, will be built by Kier in Dagenham, ELUTec.
The education facility aims to inspire young people in east London and Essex to become the 'next generation' of engineers and designers.
The college will be partially housed within the area of a former industrial unit.
A new Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structure will provide a series of academic spaces over three-storeys, with a 'business like' frontage.
The lecture theatre will be positioned centrally in the main approach elevation, where it will project from the main façade to provide a single point of orientation.
The college is expected to open in September 2016.
Rupert Kitchen, Partner at LSI Architects, commented: "The technically-rich project based 'learning through doing' ethos is inherent in the design, and as such the workshops will be 'on show' and visible on arrival with oblique views available from a Forum area."
