Construction Management Software Limited are one of the leading suppliers and developers of construction estimating and financial software systems for the construction and allied contracting industries.

Construction Management Software Limited (CMS) was formed in October 2002 by two of the leading suppliers of software to the construction industry. One specialised in pre and post contract estimating and valuations software, whilst the other specialised in construction industry financial systems.

Recognising an increasing demand in the marketplace for much closer integration between estimating and financial systems, the decision was taken to form CMS and to supply from one source, stand alone estimating or financials, or fully integrated solutions

The approach chosen has been to base the system, known as CMS Contractor, on the pre and post contract estimating and valuations software. These modules are as follows:

• Subcontractor & Supplier Enquiries & Quote Comparisons
• Valuations

The financial modules are:

• Contract Management
• Contract Sales Management
• Purchasing Management
• Subcontractor Management including CIS & RCT Controls

Recognising that the specific industry requirements are met by the above modules, it was decided that the best method of completing the overall solution would be to base the non generic financial modules on leading core financial systems. CMS Contractor links with various core financial systems. These are:

• Access Accounts
• Sage 50
• Sage 200
• Xero Accounts
• The intention is to link CMS Contractor with other leading core financial systems as and when required.

CMS Contractor
This is a .NET/MS SQL Server product. It is a modern web services solution, architectured using the latest Microsoft technologies for building secure, reliable web applications. Available as a stand alone or fully integrated solution the system is marketed as a SaaS (Software as a Solution) cost effective product.

Estimating Modules

• Estimating & Take Off - Preparation and pricing of Bills of Quantities.
• Valuations - Prepare Applications for Payment on an external, internal and subcontractor basis.
• Bill Import and Export - Import CITE and Excel Bills of Quantities to upload to Estimating and Take Off module.
• Subcontractor & Supplier Enquiries - Enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers for quotations and latest prices.

Financial Modules

• Subcontractor Management - Processing of Orders, Applications, Certificates, Invoices and Timesheets as well as CIS and RCT returns.
• Contract Sales Management - Processing of Payment Applications, Certificates and Invoices
• Purchasing Management - Processing of Material Orders, Delivery Notes and Invoices. Processing of Plant Orders and Invoices.
• Contract Management & Cost Control - Monitors revenue and expenditure to a user defined level to provide real time information on all contracts.
• Core Financials - CMS Contractor is fully integrated with a number of accounts systems including Sage 50, Sage 200, Xero Accounts, Access Accounts and a growing list of others.
