About Surrey & london basement company Ltd
Basement and Cellar Conversions in Chelsea, Fulham, Mayfair and Kensington
Convert your existing cellar to make viable, useful below-ground space with high quality cellar conversions. Whether you need more space for your expanding family, a functional office or guest rooms; cellar conversions can give you that extra living or storage space you require. Whatever basement space you have, we can convert your damp, dark, wet and flooded basements in London, Surrey and the South East including the areas of Chelsea, Fulham, Mayfair and Kensington for all manner of applications.
Waterproofing Systems
Basement conversions, basement construction dig-outs, basement or cellar refurbishment and creating space below-ground are increasingly more popular. The most important consideration is a waterproofing system. To make absolutely sure the basement is waterproof, the ground water pressure is effectively managed away to prevent water penetration into the property that will otherwise destroy the dry living environment.
Kitchens
We spend a lot of time in our kitchens; it is likely in most homes to be the most important living space in the entire house. It is not just a place for eating and preparing food; kitchens are great family and entertainment spaces. The kitchen is also one of the most important areas people consider when purchasing a house, so a great kitchen can significantly increase the value of your property. Kitchen remodelling is one of the best investments you can make in your home!
Bathrooms
Like all of our work we pride ourselves on beautifully crafted bathroom designs; relax in a hot massaging shower or warm scented bath; wash in comfort, enjoy the style and luxury. Bathrooms, just like kitchens, are one of the most important factors people consider when purchasing a property, so redesigning or remodelling your bathroom can be a great investment and perhaps more importantly a luxury you deserve. If you can imagine it or you have been inspired because something caught your eye, please use the information request form on our website to tell us about your needs.
Internal Building
Whether you need just need a little painting and decorating or a complete rebuild of your period property, Surrey & London Basement Company Ltd can present the right solution. We undertake all structural work and repairs, alterations including chimney breast removal, dividing walls and re-support. We have an architect and two engineers on our team and an excellent interior designer who works with us on specific projects.
Exterior Building
Professional, exterior building services, from minor renovations to complete new build basement construction. Be it an extension or basement conversion under your garden, we can help. We have in-house architects and engineers and work closely with planning consultants to give guidance on the best course of action. Please tell us about your building plans using the form on the right; we are certain we can find the right solution for you and will happily produce initial drawings and a quotation free of charge.

Reviews & Testimonials for Surrey & london basement company Ltd
June 11, 2022
Similar to Arnolds experience (1*review). Wish I had checked.
After a positive experience with basement we trusted the director of slbc and team to do our new build (on team page).
Some of many issues incl.
- evasion of building control for several months , no sign off for foundations! informed us BC was "delighted" . Compromised foundations/ building structure, no new build certificate and non BBA certificate approved products. Charged thousands for soil analysis a year ago which they did not do and then gained adviced from their structural engineer (who does not deal with client directly) without a soil analysis?! Foundations Now need thousands in remedial work.
They are holding items pending arrival to site asking for more money. Partially paid subcontractors part work done. Ensure your name is on subcontractor accounts (will leave reviews on their sites) as many of the subcontractors (especially window supplier) will not engage with homeowner even to reassure of delivery date and therefore no way to know if items ahve been fully paid or for production.
Susbequent QS survey and building control discussions are in agreement of overcharging / poor quality work.
Please look at Instagram or Facebook there is no pics of completed new builds... just demolition with subsequent problems. Quick to demolition to extract money.
The director and general manager are no longer communicating with us and employed a part time HR operations manager who sends antagonising and patronising emails without full understanding of the valuations paid and provides opinion and demands with no basis/foundation.
Demanding access to site at their convenience and accusing of non compliance from client when in fact they do not attend on dates provided ; n.b site closed due to incomplete foundations and health and safety concerns and inhabitable therefore access needs to be arranged around home owner availability with work and to come from extended rental property to allow access....slbc expectation availability at their demand!! Grossly unprofessional emails received.
We are a family....who chose a new build versus extension for disability proofing our child.. we were like, Arnaud review, seduced at a vulnerable time to future proof our house. Which has allowed an opportunity for financial and emotional manipulation and we are living a worsening nightmare than our childs diagnosis had been as we cant assure a safe home. A lift was part of the project so to have skimmed on foundations in the knowledge a moving lift is to be installed..... must be in knowledge of risk and harm to a person requiring support with mobilityand access to lift??? We are in shock.
There is an appearance of insurance cover sold to us and advertised on their website. Yet no accountability for paying for remedial work...
...directly caused by greed, arrogance and lack of accountability by SLBC; triggered by their director and perpetuated by current general manager and hr operations person.
Even when exposed denial and cover up featured in our interactions... trust and faith in competence is irrevocably destroyed
Could not recommend avoiding this company or any other company erected in the future by their director and this team, enough.
Wish we had gone with Accuro/ upright/ JVB as they were open and upfront with cost; and project management for some would have been independent to builder. Recommend this to other home owners. This is not our expertise and that leaves decent people at risk of exploitation. We have lost our savings.
We refrained from review for several weeks but given the disgusting behaviour of their team I feel to protect the public to share
In summary,
- Basement company that can not pass building regulations for foundation
- or achieve basic customer service and trust.
-Overcharging clients whilst advertising new e

Stay away
Project consisted of extending an existing basement to the full footprint of the house, building a rear extension, creating a decking area with underneath storage and finishing all the newly created rooms to pink plaster - a £300k+ refurbishment. We were seduced by the director, who seemed to be very knowledgeable, reassuring re the several challenges of a project of this size and able to complete in 8 months max. Moreover his approach of a fixed price contract was appealing to us. Shortly after the works started the issues kicked in. a) The Project manager walked out due to irreconcilable differences with the director and was never replaced, with work covered by labourers lacking necessary expertise b) Persistent disrespectful and aggressive behaviour in front of toddlers during meetings where issues were raised b) Constant bullying and threats to stop works if he was not paid additional money for extras that were already included in the contract and already paid for. d) Poor quality of work, leaving us with a leaking flat roof, a dry under deck area thats constantly wet, unlevel and poorly fitted flooring, bi-fold doors not weatherproof with daylight showing around the seals where they have dropped, temperamental electrics etc e) Project overran by more than 1 year. Issues were either ignored or where correction was attempted they failed. So despite all invoices paid we had to ask them to stop and are left paying other to fix the major faults. Stay away at all costs
