Global leading design house Mutina focus on exclusive designs, tailor-made production and research innovation to create porcelain tiles collections of the highest quality; continually pushing boundaries in design and production. Their ranges are created by world renowned designers including Patricia Urquiola, Konstantin Grcic and the Bouroullec brothers, to name but a few.
The latest Mutina collection to launch is Puzzle, designed by British design duo Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby. Puzzle is a graphic patterned tile collection featuring bold geometric forms. The range consists of eight colour families, each named after different European islands; colours incorporated into the range include a bright blue which is reminiscent of Greek island architecture, through to a steel grey which nods to the landscape in Skye. Each colour family contains six patterned tiles, three plain colours and two ‘Edge’ designs, resulting in a range with limitless layout possibilities.

New Range - Puzzle
Puzzle is a graphic patterned tile collection featuring bold geometric forms. Created by British design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for global leading Italian manufacturer Mutina, Puzzle consists of eight colour families, each named after different European islands. The neutral colours represent the Northern Isles of Faroe, Gotland, Aland, Anglesey and Skye while the warmer, brighter shades are associated with the Mediterranean Islands of Creta, Milos and Murano.
Puzzle gives designers total freedom of composition. Endless combinations can be created using elements which can be positioned horizontally or vertically, on floors or walls, via geometric or abstract shapes. Graphic flooring can be matched with a block colour wall and vice-versa. A gradation of colours can be created that starts as a block colour on the floor and blends into graphic patterns on the wall, using the skirting board to change into a facade. Or a floor can be designed where the Edge patterns are organised into geometric forms that gradually disperse randomly. Patterns can also be used to create other decorative elements within a room, such as headboards or splash backs.
The official UK launch for Puzzle will be at Decorex International, Syon Park, 18th - 21st September. Puzzle samples will be available to see in Domus showrooms from mid-September. Order Puzzle samples online here.
