Collins Plant Hire was established in 1967. We pride ourselves on providing well maintained, clean and reliable vehicles both on an operated and self-drive basis and give our customers the best possible level of service and support.

We have built up long-standing customer relationships over the years by providing a personal approach and we always make it a priority to understand what our customers need to get the job done. With this in mind we are often able to adapt our vehicles to suit a specific requirement and are constantly working to support our customers and their ever changing needs.

Collins Plant Hire Vehicle Fleet

• 7.5 Tonne Lorry Mounted Combi Bunded Bowsers
  Combi Bowsers are our most versatile bowser. On a 7.5 tonne chassis is mounted a 950 litre bunded fuel tank (which means it falls outside ADR licensing) and a 2,500 litre water tank. The 950 litre diesel tank is bunded to 110% of capacity to meet all current legislation. To discharge the bunded diesel tanks are equipped with a 24 volt bi-pump enabling quick efficient and reliable refuelling.


• 950 litre Bunded Transit Mounted Diesel Bowser
  This 950 litre bunded and baffled diesel bowser is mounted on a 3.5 tonne GVW chassis cab meaning it can be driven on a normal driving licence without the need of an ADR Licence. To discharge the tank each vehicle is equipped with a bi-pump resulting in fast efficient reliable refuelling.


• Roadsweepers
  Roadsweepers, this is where Collins Plant Hire started. Our Johnston VT650 offer performance efficiency and reliability that is hard to beat. Our sweepers are equipped with reversing cameras, radar and two types of alarm (including white noise), rear chevrons and numerous mirrors for all round visibility. Our drivers all have relevant licences, MPQC, EPIC and CSCS cards.


• 10,000 Litre Water Bowser
  The large 10,000 litre Water Bowser is based around a stainless steel tank, this means there will be no rust issues which may contaminate your machinery or trial pits. To discharge the tank each vehicle is equipped with a 2” Honda pump discharging to either a 2” or 1” outlet.


• 7.5 Tonne Lorry Mounted Water Bowser
  The all water bowser consists of two 1,750 litre baffled water tanks linked to provide a total capacity of 3,500 litres. To discharge the tanks each vehicle is equipped with a 2” Hone pump discharging to either a 2” or 1” outlets.


• 5 Seat Crew Van
  New for Collins Plant Hire we now offer Car Derived Vans (CDV). Our CDV’s have the added advantage of having a second row of collapsible seats complete with three inertia reel seat belts.

CPA Members

In-House Maintenance
We have been servicing, modifying and delivering construction, road maintenance and general hire vehicles for many years. We have a service centre for heavy duty repair and maintenance together with a fleet of fully equipped service vans.
