About Midland Industrial Metals

Midland Industrial Metals Ltd is a family run business with over 40 years of experience in the metal and waste recycling industry. When we formed back in 1973 we specialised in providing press workers, stockholders, die casters, fabricators and machinists with a complete disposal service for the materials they disposed of and supplying sorted, graded, processed non-ferrous metals to the foundry trade. That service is still the core activity of our business.

But having grown to become one of the United Kingdom’s leading metal recyclers and processors, MIM’s natural growth and diversification has led to expansion into a wider range of materials within the waste and recycling industry.

We offer a complete recycling and reclamation service and consistently offer the most competitive prices for Brass, Copper, Aluminium, Zinc, Stainless Steel, Steel, Magnesium and their alloys in all of their forms.

The recycling and reclamation service can be tailored to fit your individual needs.

All metals are processed at our Sams Lane facility using the latest equipment, ensuring our suppliers get the best price for their metal, our customers get the best product, and we all benefit from a better environment.

We are ISO 9001:2000 & ISO 14001:2008 registered and are licensed in accordance with all current regulations concerning the metal reclamation industry. Our customer base is wide and varied and covers all areas of the metal manufacturing, stockholding, waste and recycling industries, large and small.

Services
We specialise in ferrous, non-ferrous metals and alloys such as Copper, Aluminium, Zinc, Brasses, Bronzes, Stainless Steel, Nickel alloys and precious metals.

We purchase these materials in any form from new production scrap through mixed or contaminated assemblies to floor sweeps and extracted dusts.

Our current throughput is currently around 1000 tonnes per month, representing an annual turnover of approximately £10 million, which obviously varies depending on LME prices.

The prices we quote for material are always competitive and are based on both London Metal Exchange fixations and general demand. Depending on your requirements we can relate prices to the LME, Metal Bulletin magazine or simply on a “spot” basis. Payment terms are flexible and can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Our collection service is second to none. Collections are made to suit your requirements at all times. Suitable storage bins and/or skips can be provided free of charge if required. Waste Transfer Notes are provided, free of charge and certificates disposal are provided for all WEEE scrap.

Collection
We offer a complete reclamation or disposal service for all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Brass, Copper, Aluminium, Zinc, Stainless steel, Steel, Magnesium. Nickel and their alloys, in all forms from new production line scrap to contaminated assemblies, swarf, drosses and residues are all required.

A simple, straight forward, uncomplicated service is offered which is tailored to your needs. Free storage bins, containers or skips can be provided. Collection to suit you – daily if needed anywhere in the U.K.

Each collection is followed by a detailed analysis of the material collected, type, weight and value. Weighing could be at your works, Midland Industrial Metals’ yard or a public weighbridge – whichever suits you best.

Processing
The ever tightening environmental regulations will continue to provide industry with some of its toughest challenges.

Midland Industrial Metals Limited operate in a legal, safe, responsible and environmentally aware manner – ensuring customers’ legal and moral obligations are met. They issue all relevant waste documentation ensuring transfers of ferrous, non ferrous and non metallic wastes are not only legal but straight forward and trouble free. Their commitment to professionalism and care of the environment is reflected in their accreditation to BS EN ISO 9002:1994 – which means that everyone benefits their staff, their customers and the environment.

Once material has arrived at the Sams Lane site it is analysed, sorted and graded. Further processing then takes place, depending on the material in question. After the shearing, baling, cleaning, mixing or melting is complete, the scrap material that arrived with Midland Industrial Metals has been turned into a useful, valuable material ready for the manufacturing industry.
