About Chilstone Architectural Stonework
About Chilstone
Michael Dibben founded Chilstone Garden Ornaments in 1953 at Great Linford Manor in Buckinghamshire. In 1976 the company moved to Sprivers, a beautiful National Trust property. In 1996 it was felt that the new show gardens should be constructed at Langton Green, near Tunbridge Wells. This would consolidate our workshop and retail sites and make Chilstone's show gardens more accessible to the public. The new show gardens were opened by Alan Titchmarsh in 1997.
Because we have complete control over our production process, Chilstone can provide your stone in exact lengths to avoid any cutting. We can clearly identify every piece and can provide show drawings showing the exact location and setting out. External angles and junctions are normal, as are stopped of fair ends, drips or returns.
Our vast and comprehensive range gives you more choice of standard components, we don’t restrict you or your clients to a choice of just three colours, we can readily adapt standard moulds to produce different profiles and sized in house, and should you have a particular need we can produce special moulds at realistic prices to satisfy your requirements. All this saves you money, saves you time, and gives you the confidence to specify and order Chilstone.
We have an excellent working knowledge of construction and building practices, and regulations. We can produce exactly to your specifications and from drawings and we are pleased to be involved at the design stage concerning the installation of any Chilstone component to ensure that you receive a product which is exactly right for you, and both easy and practicable to install.
