The Mineral Planning Group

The Group Members have wide experience in mineral planning, geology, hydrogeology, landscape assessment & proposals, reserve and resource assessment (from sand & gravel to gold) including the production of County wide ''Areas of Search'' maps, ecological appraisals, rural conservation, rights of way, interpretation and planning policy advice.

In addition, we are able to co-ordinate and produce detailed Environmental Assessments and construct well thought out and packaged mineral/waste planning applications to the quality required by all MPA's.


We also carry out Quality Assurance for landfill liner construction, produce QA
Verification Reports to the standards required by the Environment Agency and Contaminated Land Assessments including monitoring of hydrocarbons and landfill gases. MPG have invested in our own in-house drilling rig (approx. 10m) enabling us to carry out initial ''low-profile'' site investigations.

The Mineral Planning Group does not, however, claim to be able to carry out every aspect of any major mineral/planning project in-house.

We do not, for instance, have an in-house archaeologist or noise specialist. However, to coin a phrase, ''we know a man who can!''.
