Biomass
Modern biomass boilers burn logs, wood chip, wood pellets or other forms of biomass. The most advanced boilers are fully automatic. They control the amount of fuel and air supplied to the combustion chamber. As a result they are highly efficient and emissions are low. meaning that from an operational point of view, in some situations, you would notice very little difference between a biomass burner and a traditional oil or gas boiler.
Renewable Heat Incentive
The Renewable Heat Incentive is a financial incentive scheme for renewable heat generation that will help the UK reduce carbon emissions and hit its EU renewable energy targets.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will provide financial support for those who install renewable heating, which qualifies for support under the scheme. The scheme should support a range of technologies, including air and ground-source heat pumps , solar thermal, biomass boilers, renewable combined heat and power.
Domestic Installation
The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was officially launched on 9THApril 2014. The scheme, which is a Government financial incentive, has been designed to increase the demand for renewable heat technologies in homes across the UK by encouraging switching to heating systems that use naturally replenished energy to help reduce carbon emissions, and in turn help meet Government renewable targets and save money on fuel bills.
Commercial Installation
The Commercial Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) started in November 2011 and targets commercial, not-for-profit, charity and public sector organizations and is a financial support scheme providing long term incentives designed to encourage the uptake of renewable heating technologies.
