Bespoke Lighting

The client wanted a specific type of look for this project, and we know that 299 have that look available, and we asked them for a sample, so we could demonstrate that to our client, they provided that in a very quick fashion. All the manufacturers are providing LED lighting, there is a different quality of LED and we look as an installer, for a manufacturer, who can meet the higher standard at an affordable price. 299 have been able to do that and the quality assurance is worth investing in for us as an installer. when we deal with a company like 299, we deal with a lot of people we never get to meet, so we are dealing with people by email, by phone contact, and the service they provide could be very important.
In this particular project, we dealt a lot with Elman, who works at the office, very friendly, very professional, and provided the information that was required for the project.

We have over 65 properties across London, most of them tend to be turn of the century properties and industrial buildings, and what we trying to do is refurbish them, and when we refurbish them, we are trying to retain the character and the feel of the buildings, and not to be too garish on the design. We chose 299 Lighting because the light fittings are cool, creative and they fit in within the units that we create for our customers. The relationship we have with 299 Lighting is growing and ever evolving, they are involved with our design features from the beginning and help us to deliver the product at the end.

The linear direct/-indirect profile Oka was supplied in all 4 sizes ranging from 1200mm to 3000mm continuously throughout all breakout areas.
In some areas, the Oka was surface mounted and suspended in others. The surface mounted Oka's were installed in between black wooden slats which as a visual aspect looks particularly cool. It adds texture to the space and the breakout areas are visually warm and welcoming.

Following our successful collaboration with Paul Earl on schemes like 25 Settles Street, Cally Yard and 34-38 Provost Street to name a few, we have been approached by their project team with the request for lighting design in June 2019. We worked closely with Hoare Lea, Paul Earl and Salvis Group, and our lighting design and engineering team became an integral part of The Forge project, turning the design concept of Hawkins\Brown into a reality.
St Edward's is the leading co-educational boarding and day school situated in Oxford, offering first class education for children aged 13-18. The school's thriving reputation in art has gone from strength to strength since the opening of The North Wall Art Centre 10 years ago.
The purpose-built home for drama, art and dance extended its reach way beyond the school and attracts over 20,000 visitors a year. A new addition to the school's vibrant and ambitious art scene is the newly built Ogston Music School, a brand new £7m development named after the principal contributor, Hamish Ogston. Designed by Tim Ronalds Architects, the new music school has ambitious plans to establish itself at a national level. The new facility also features 20 practice rooms, 7 ensemble rooms, a recording studio and rock room.
Working alongside the engineers at Max Fordham, we supported the design team with product specification for the rehearsal room. The minimalist design of the space was calling for lighting that would not take center stage, but would provide
excellent quality lighting to enhance the music performance.
The brief for the product specification was suspended cylindrical lighting that would be capable of comfortable accent lighting with low glare. Equipped with world class acoustics, the pyramid-shaped rehearsal room was fitted with the suspended cylinder-shaped luminaire, Sett in a custom grey beige RAL colour.
The Sett suspended is the perfect balance between efficient, quality light and a subtle design statement. The user is free to adjust the LED light source with its two axis’s, for 30° tilt, ideal for music rehearsal rooms.
The new music school opened its doors for the first time at the start of the term. The magnificent rehearsal space is able to seat up to 120 people.
The new lighting was delivered and installed in time for the inauguration ceremony on the 20th March 2017.
