About Greenguru-NE

Greenguru Group designs, supplies, installs and commissions Photovoltaic Solar Panel and other renewable energy systems with the objective of decreasing carbon emissions, reducing conventional energy usage, shrinking the end users electricity bills and earning revenue for the electricity they produce.

Solar Photovoltaic
Solar Photovoltaic panels require only daylight (not sunlight) to generate electricity for most buildings large or small such as offices, schools, colleges, social housing, industrial locations, farm buildings and apartments.

Solar PV panels consist of cells of either one or two layers made from semi conducting material. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layer, causing electricity to flow. The greater the intensity of light, the greater the flow of electricity resulting in a greater energy import.

Solar Thermal
Solar Thermal Systems
Solar THERMAL energy (STE) is different from photovoltaic which converts solar energy directly into electricity.

How does Solar Thermal work?
Solar thermal heating systems use solar collectors to capture energy to heat water.  There are many designs, however they all make use of the same working principle.  A singular liquid in the panels heats up and is pumped through a coil in the hot water heating supply.  Another approach is to circulate the water to be heated through the actual solar THERMAL panels.

Solar thermal technologies utilise the heat from the sun to off set the water heating demand of a building.

Heat Pumps
How do Air Source Heat Pumps work?
Heat pumps utilise solar heat stored in the natural surroundings such as the earth, water and air, to provide space and/or water heating for a building. ASHP's are electrically powered appliances consisting of a compressor and two carefully matched heat exchangers.  They are easily attached to the side of a building and then connected up internally to the heating and water system and can be used in any energy efficient building with a low temperature heat requirement and a building utilisation greater than 80% and can provde up to 100% of space and water heating requirements.

Underfloor Heating
How does UFH work?
The temperature of the floor has to be high enough to warm the room to normal living temperatures, but never to warm so it is uncomfortable under foot, then as heat rises the room is warmed to a comfortable uniform level - eleiminating the need for radiators.

Ground Source Heat Pumps
How do Ground-Source Heat Pumps work?
The GSHP takes low temperature energy from the ground and uses the earth or ground water (or both) as sources of heat by utilising plastic pipes filed with an antifreeze solution laid in trenches 1.5-2m deep or boreholes to extract heat and convert it into a higher useable temperature.

It can provide an energy efficient low carbon form of space heating and water heating to homes and commercial premises.

Rainwater Harvesting
How does Rainwater Harvesting work?
Rainwater Harvesting is the accumulating, storing and utilisation of rainfall as a free natural resource.  In its simplest form it can be a simple water butt located under a down pipe being used to fill a watering can - at the other end pf the scale it can consist of large above or underground tanks, filters and pumps which will not only be used for garden irrigation or car washing but also for domestic appliances such as toilets, washing machines, showers or baths. These uses alone will halve the amount of water used by a typical home.
