Specialist surfaces
We provide six different surfaces in our normal range, Savanna, Pladek, Sporturf, Tenniturf, Omniclay and Matchplay, with specialist surfaces also available on request. Our range of surfaces allows us to provide the perfect solution for every need from a family play area, to a hardwearing multi-use games area or a championship-class tennis court. Recent projects include the construction of courts at prestige locations including Rockingham Castle, Belvoir Caste, Hatfield House and Knebworth House.

Quality
Our service is based on a total commitment to quality. With decades of experience we know that the details are important:
  • Site size
  • Best orientation
  • Tree root issues
  • Suitability of surface to proposed use and location
  • Ground condition

Following these initial decisions, we will recommend the most appropriate surface and submit a specification and estimate for a total design and build contract.
  • No short-cuts in material specification
  • No casual labour
  • Nothing but the highest standards
  • EU-sourced materials that are checked and approved by us before they are used
  • Our own direct-labour construction teams, each of which is led by a highly experienced foreman who is a specialist in tennis court construction

To reinforce this dedication to quality assurance, our construction manager will make site visits to carry out detailed quality inspections. Quality goes through En-Tout-Cas from top to bottom. MD Rory Shepherd is a Licentiate of the Institute of Groundsmen and the company is registered with Constructionline and Chas.

Heritage and experience
En-Tout-Cas is the oldest and best known of all artificial tennis court surfaces. It has been manufactured since 1909.

There are En-Tout-Cas courts all over the word – we recently installed one at the British Embassy in Moscow. The company has an illustrious history. By the mid-1930s, there were ten En- Tout-Cas courts at Wimbledon and our courts were being used for the Davis Cup and the French Open. American clients included the Ford family, H F Du Pont, S R Guggenheim, J Pierrepoint Morgan and President Theodore Roosevelt.

Today modern technology and superb new surfaces have taken over from the crushed brick surface that made up the first courts in 1909. But the commitment to quality is unchanged. The company is owned and run by Rory Shepherd whose family have been involved with En-Tout-Cas for more than 65 years.

The En-Tout-Cas group includes Anglia & Midland Sports Surfaces Ltd (AMSS), which has been established for more than 30 years. AMSS delivers to the same high standards as En-Tout-Casas the Perfect Delivery Certificate awarded to AMSS (pictured above) demonstrates.

Framing and landscaping your court
An En-Tout-Cas court complements the natural beauty of its surroundings. That’s why we take great effort to blend the court with its natural environment. As these images from some of our projects show, the results can be truly stunning.

We provide court surrounds with estate tubular supports and our own patented obelisk surround system and offer a full design and installation service on all courts. The obelisk system is designed to support plant growth. Its slender gothic stanchions are attractive and provide the perfect base for climbing plants such as honeysuckle, clematis and roses. The frame also gives all the strength it needs to withstand severe storms. The result is a tennis court that blends harmoniously into its garden environment. To escape from the box-like effect of angle iron, the surround heights can also be varied to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the court.

The beauty of the obelisk system is that close up it looks attractive, but from a distance it is virtually invisible, as the picture above shows, making a tennis court into a garden feature.
