Barwick Roofing were paid £1000 to replace the cracked lead in the valley bottoms of my late mother’s house.
1/ Barwick Roofing left rubble, broken tiles and fibreglass in the bottom where the roof valleys meet. This blockage was likely to be the cause of damp which then appeared in the corner of the neighbour’s bedroom ceiling. I guess that Barwick Roofing wouldn’t expect my 91 year old mother to be able see what they had done. I have photos and video of the rubble. It’s awful.
2/ Two roofing companies have confirmed that Barwick Roofing should have used either lead or a ‘V’ shaped valley trough but instead they used a flat fibreglass bonding gutter, forced into a deep V shape. I didn’t realise fibreglass was that flexible. I asked to see a sample of this flat fibreglass section but to no avail.
3/ When I contacted Barwick Roofing about the issues they said to meet them at the property at 7:30am (January 2022). I pointed out that it is still pitch dark at 7:30am in January but they insisted. A man arrived without ladders and sat in his van for a while then left.

requested quotes for side roof installation and main roof sofits, fascia and guttering. Choose this firm as nearby and quote came in 3rd highest. They turned up and started work on side roof, we queried this as we though they should do main roof work first. They finished side roof and when we queried other work, he stated he hadnt quoted for that as well. Couldnt prove he hadnt quoted for all work as quote just stated, installation of side roof, installation of sofits, fascia and guttering. But the price was in same region of others who had quoted for all. Agreed an additional amount to complete work but we have contacted him several times but has not turned up to do work and has every excuse under the sun and keeps promising to do work. After 8 months we have given up on him completing the work. All I can say is double check what he has quoted for. Not reliable.
