About A-DECKS
A-Decks are one of the leading decking companies in London and the South-East, providing its private and commercial clients with the highest standards of design, installation, materials and craftsmanship.
We design and construct outdoor living areas for relaxing and entertaining. Whatever the shape of your garden we will design you a deck that will allow you to enjoy a unique environment all year round, providing a seamless transition from inside to outside your home.
Our teams of skilled craftsmen will ensure that your deck is installed with the minimum of disruption and always within budget.
A-DECKS is a small but professional decking company, committed to providing its clients with a first rate service in the private and commercial sectors with the highest standards of design, installation, materials and craftsmanship.
All our decks are individually designed to complement your property, garden and of course your budget. Our main fitting team is run by Greg Jones who trained as a boat builder in Sydney, Australia.
A-Decks are constantly working on a range of interesting and challenging garden and roof terrace projects including:
Damien Hirsts’ Houseboat - a first for A-Decks
Zandra Rhodes’ Design Museum
Following an initial consultation we will design and build you a great looking deck that you will enjoy entertaining and relaxing on for many years. Our decks are designed and built to accommodate the most uneven grounds or steepest slopes.
Decks are constructed by fixing a series of random length boards to supporting joists and piers. The natural timber creates an attractive and warm finish and the flat surface ensures that rain water will drain away quickly.
A-Decks are very particular about how our decks are fixed to the frame and when using high grade timber we only use stainless steel screws. Most other coated screws lose their coating after reacting with the oils in the timber.
A-Decks use a range of timbers, including Western Red Cedar, Balau, Yellow Balau, Ipe, Tatajuba, Oak and European softwoods. These woods have been selected not only because of their visual appearance and their ability to blend sympathetically with the environment, but also because they are very stable in wet or dry weather, and in the wide range of temperatures experienced in this country.
All our timbers are sourced from managed and sustainable forests.
A-Decks always recommend fitting flat boards as opposed to grooved. We can install grooved decking, but you will find that the grooves will hold general dust and debris, and leaves from nearby trees. Once the grooves are full of debris, water struggles to run off. Grooved decking has potential to become very slippery.
