Please be wary of employing this man. Read reviews and be aware that he does not have the skills, nor does he work with the care required to comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

John started work on my bathroom refurb at the end of November 2020 . The work that he undertook was NOT of a professional standard.

He works between 8am and 11.30am. Then he’s gone for the day! He arrived with one dust sheet which did not adequately cover the two flights of stairs in my home. He slopped grey, wet ground on two flights of my stairs which left unsightly marks that I had to clean.

His tiling is not to a professional standard, the tiles are not plumb and the joints don’t meet properly on the corners. The grouting is really poor with some areas not grouted at all. He fitted new edging strips and did not mitre the joints at the corners.

A joint in new pipe work that he fitted in the loft leaked creating a stain on the landing ceiling.

In conversation he blames everything else for his inadequate workmanship.

He has left the seal out of the toilet that should sit between the pan and the cistern. He fitted a new bath waste and it’s on the tilt. He fitted the wrong type of door strip between carpet and new LVT flooring in the bathroom. He has damaged the landing carpet which is of a loop design where it joins the bathroom flooring, I daren’t lift the door strip for fear of what damage lies beneath.

He leaned bags of sharp tiles removed from the bathroom walls against the landing walls which has damaged the paintwork. I asked him not to do this but he kept doing it, resulting in damage to three walls which will require re-painting.

He fitted a towel rail and clearly didn’t use a spirit level as it’s on the tilt, as is the new toilet roll holder.

I would warn anyone against employing him, do your homework, read reviews, ask to see his previous work.

I am currently in the throes of remedial work putting right everything that he has done wrong. Thankfully I didn’t allow him to finish the job, I knew things weren’t right. I daren’t depend on any of the plumbing, it will all have to be pulled out and started again.

This experience has been so stressful. Employ this man at your peril.

We had had a major bathroom revamp done by John Pickford.other plumbers told us that we could not fit the bathroom the way we wanted. A lovely transformation has been created by John.It resulted in us being able to have both a bath and separate shower fitted in the space.
We experienced good after care and good prices too

Do not use this man, his work is of a poor standard, he uses cheapest products and charges top prices for them. He has a legitimate looking web site quoting his team of skilled experienced workers..he is a one man band. I recently booked him for a whole bathroom refit,we waited 5 weeks for him he then put us back another 2 1/2 weeks..the job went into a 3rd weekend when he quoted 7/8 days when I had to ask him to leave his work was so bad...he only works 1/2 a day each day and was gone by 12.30 each day...this guy is a conman I have evidence from his quotes and reciepts of over charging on most of the items...I also have photos of all his bad work which I’m willing to share..employ this man at your peril..you have been warned. I have had all his bad work ripped out and started again from scratch...the list is quite extensive of what we uncovered..corners cut.. things hidden thinking they would never be seen..seriously I should have got rid of him sooner..one bad egg, do not be fooled like we were by this old man.
