About The Classic Barn Company

The Classic Barn Company are makers of beautifully detailed oak framed structures. Their barns feature a generous cross section of oak with traditional features throughout. Furthermore, they are accredited to the Guild of Master Craftsmen.

Their work can be found throughout the UK and mostly concentrated around the local regions of Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey.

A Classic Frame – An incomparable cross section of extra thick beams and posts and finished with traditional detail throughout.

The Complete Service – An entirely flexible service, taking care of the entire build or working along side clients' architects. The complete service is available from design, planning through to completion.

Bespoke – The Classic Barn Company provides a design service that can produce ‘one off ’ structures. Clients using this service will benefit from their 3D modelling service and a frame designed efficiently and cost effectively.

Renowned locally for their attention to detail and beautiful oak frame work The Classic Barn Company upholds their designs with an equally high level of service. Clients will be guided through the designs with a well-informed pricing presentation accompanied with detailed visuals on the options available to them. Site visits can be arranged where a company representative will check all the relevant factors associated to the location of the build and spend time discussing all the options available to the client. Each build is project managed to ensure all building elements are installed correctly and on time.

Each oak framed building project begins with a detailed consultation with the client to understand their vision, requirements, and budget. The Classic Barn team of experienced architects and designers then work closely with the client to create a suitable design that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. Once the design is finalized, the team navigates through the complex planning and building control process to ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained. This involves knowledge on planning policies, and effective communication with local authorities. Once planning permission is secured, the team oversees the construction phase to ensure that the oak building is built according to the approved plans and specifications. Working closely with their contractors and suppliers to ensure that deadlines are met, quality standards are maintained, and any issues are addressed promptly. A comprehensive service focused on delivering each oak building project on time, and to budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The quality of these buildings is simply breath taking. From the perfect finish, eminent craftsmanship and glorious aroma. Andrew and his team could not be more helpful in ensuring everything is just so. The brochures details some lovely design options, but these need to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated. Very discerning people who work in construction industry have chosen these and are delighted. That should tell you everything. Not the cheapest option, but simply outstanding.

The Barn was delivered to Guernsey safely and on time where we commissioned a local team to erect and complete the build. From start to finish, the service was friendly and professional. My self-build barn was a 2 bay, single storey garage with workshop, which was modified to suit my site dimensions. Delivery of the frame was to suit my initially uncertain programme, but through regular communication, this was timely delivered. The materials were very accurately cut (only 2 slight errors of about 5mm were noted) and consequently, with the easy to follow drawings, the frame was straightforward and quick to erect. The timber sections were substantial and of good quality, with the overall result aesthetically very pleasing and more than meeting my expectations. One error with a corner detail, which occurred as a result of a dimensional modification to the standard configuration, was quickly addressed without issue or delay. As a self build this was a very satisfying project (particularly as I am a civil engineer) and I am very pleased and proud of the outcome. I would certainly recommend The Classic Barn Company to anyone considering erecting a quality oak frame barn.

Slightly more expensive than others, but the quality and value throughout makes this completely justified. Their excellent above garage room design proportions, complete with little crafted features here and there make it really unique. I found the design spec much higher than with others, as they use lots of chunky Oak work instead of the usual combination of softwood in places.
