About All About Asbestos Ltd
All About Asbestos provide specialist asbestos surveying and remediation services throughout Kent and the south east as well as for national clients based throughout the UK. With over 30 years' experience within the asbestos industry. Undertaking work ranging from industrial and commercial properties to domestic buildings.
Our aim is to provide our customers with specialist, tailored surveys and advice on managing any asbestos found within their premises, as well as offering asbestos-removal remediation services. We promote a working partnership with our customers to assist them in complying with Health and Safety legislation in both the management or removal of asbestos within their premises. All surveys and removal remediation work undertaken conform to the latest HSE publications and legislation.
Asbestos Survey
Management Survey
Its purpose is to detect the presence of any suspected asbestos-containing materials in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy. Our report will demonstrate the location, condition, volume and type of asbestos contained within the material sampled.
The survey will usually involve sampling and analysis to confirm the presence or absence of asbestos. To ensure a cost-effective approach to our clients, if the material sampled is found to contain asbestos, other similar materials used in the same way can be presumed to be the same material, therefore reducing the overall cost of the survey.
Refurbishment Survey
A refurbishment and demolition survey is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the area where the work will take place, or in the whole building if demolition is planned.
Refurbishment and demolition surveys are intended to locate all the asbestos in the building as far as reasonably practicable, and may need to destructively penetrate all parts of the building structure. A full sampling programme is undertaken to identify possible asbestos-containing materials and to estimate the volume and surface area of the material identified.
HSE Regulating – Your Survey Report
All surveys undertaken conform to the HSE Publication HSG264, and provide you, as the client, with a detailed report, illustrating:

Asbestos Sampling and Testing in Kent
Compliance
CAWR 2012 (Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations) Regulation 5 states that any employer of people who are due to work with asbestos has an obligation to identify any asbestos type that may be present. Once surveys have been conducted, all subsequent works are based on the findings contained therein.
Procedures
In accordance with the HSE guidelines, the first step in the process is to undertake visual examination of the sample, using fume cabinets. After preliminary observations are made, the sample is examined using a low-powered stereo microscope. This allows for a more comprehensive and exhaustive search of the sample. Probing the sample in this way enables the analyst to make a tentative identification of fibre types present.
Professional
The operational demands and pressures on analysts require a unique skill set and personality. All analysts are required to attain a BOHS P401 qualification, and should have the ability to work methodically under pressure, maintain composure and focus, and constantly demonstrate an exceptional work ethic.
