About Asbestos
Asbestos is a set of six naturally occurring silicate minerals and are commonly known by their colours as "blue asbestos", "brown asbestos" and "white asbestos". They are divided into two fibre type groups, Serpentine and Amphibole.

Asbestos mining began thousands of years ago, however it's widespread usage began in the late 19th century and continued to be used throughout most of the 20th century. The widespread usage of asbestos was driven by its desirable physical properties, being highly resistant to heat, electrical and chemical damage, having a high tensile strength and sound absorption abilities.


Asbestos Surveys
The principal objective of the asbestos survey is to identify the location, type, condition and extent of any ACMs (asbestos containing materials) in a building. Armed with the survey findings, we can then determine how to safely manage any risks presented or schedule a programme for their safe removal.
