Reviews & Testimonials for First Call Heating Ltd

1 star review
It is an awful, dishonest and unprofessional company in our opinion based on our experience.

We booked them for a comprehensive boiler service.
The boiler was serviced by Alex. At the end of the service we tried to switch on the boiler and the boiler didnt work. It stopped working after the service and before that it worked fine. We called the company. They promised that an engineer would come the same day. Nobody turned up.

Next day the same engineer came with no apology and try to "fix" it. He removed several parts of the boiler, then removed our staff from the kitchen cupboard without asking and telling us in order to access a condensate pipe. Then he tried to assemble the boiler and couldnt put back the fan and the gas valve so he tried to push them with force and hammer them in as a result he bent the bottom wall of the boiler that should be air tight.

Nothing helped, and then he decided to check the gas pressure and told us that it was very high that prevented boiler to start up. Surely, is this should have been the first thing he should have checked so that he wouldnt need to spend so much time "investigating" it.

The engineer then said that he saw that gas pressure was high during the service but "it wasnt that bad". The engineer managed to assemble the boiler, and he managed to start it but the boiler started pouring water because he forgot to connect the condensate pipe.

Then this issue was solved eventually and the boiler started working again and we noticed that the boilers fan started making rattling noise which wasnt doing before. We remembered that the engineer couldnt fit in the fan for some time and try to hammer it in. We suspected that it could have been broken at that time.

We contacted a Glow Worm engineer and showed him the security recording of what was happening during our boilers service. He said that the engineer who serviced the boiler broke all possible rules - safety and manufacturers servicing rules.
The engineer did not isolate the boiler from electricity supply when he worked on it, he incorrectly disassembled the fan and the gas valve. Then he simply damaged the fan when he tried to force it in and hammer it in as he couldnt fit.

We got a very long list of what he did wrong.
For example, we were told that the engineer did not make a number of measurements however he put them on the paperwork as if he did. He simply made up the numbers. And it is quite obvious from the evidence.

We were quite upset by this and emailed the owner of the company, James, and explained to him what happened and asked him to put things right. We understand that things can go around sometimes and gave them a chance to put things right.
He did not respond at all, and he did not return our calls either.

Eventually, we had to write again explaining that if no response is provided we are going to ask another company to fix the problem and then take a legal action to seek compensation and recover costs.

The owner eventually responded: "I find your emails insulting to ourselves.
After 31 years working in the community, you not only suggest how to are supposed to service boilers, you then try to claim we have damaged it.
You futher suggest we make false claims on our paperwork over your boiler performance.
I have nothing further to say
You have been removed for our database, and we will no longer work for you."
(Original syntax and grammar of the quote is preserved)

This response explains everything about this company.

We appreciate that this is embarrassing for them and they are quite upset by the concrete evidence of their wrongdoing and illegal practices however they were given a chance to put things right. An intelligent person would choose to resolve the issues quickly.

I noticed that there are a number of one star reviews here that the owner always refuted and did not accept
