About Chris Little Training Services Ltd
All survey and setting out training courses are designed and run by a qualified Further Education lecturer who has 14 years experience of developing and teaching BTEC National (OND/ONC) and Higher National (HND) courses at College and University level.
Our trainer's industrial experience includes many years as a land surveyor working in the UK and Overseas, involving topographic surveys, building surveys and setting out; and eight years technical / software support, and running training courses for Sokkia.
Whilst at Sokkia he specialised in high-technology solutions in surveying and Construction; Total Stations, GPS, Mapping and Data Transfer Software.
Over the years he has gained considerable experience in specialist Industrial Measurement and Alignment, involving the use of theodolites and steel tapes, precise levels and the 3-D high precision (sub-millimetre) Sokkia Monmos system. He has worked on projects in the nuclear, rail locomotive and carriage repair, and the off-shore steel fabrication industries.
Chris Little Training Services Ltd works in conjunction with the main survey instrument manufacturers and suppliers (take a look at the Partnership webpage), as well as a number of other professionals working in specialist areas of surveying -- Laser Scanning, BIM (Building Information Modelling).

Courses for Surveyors
The courses are designed for those professionals or others who have purchase Topocad mapping software and need to learn how to use the software for downloading survey data to produce survey drawings for plotting or export to CAD packages.

The course is designed for professionals and any others who need to be able to understand how GPS/GNSS systems work and how they can be used in the Surveying, Construction, Utility and GIS Industries. Little or no previous experience is required, but some basic understanding of the need to position points for data collection.
The course is designed for surveyors and engineers who need to measure structures or objects with sub-millimetre accuracy for alignment, fabrication and/or repair. Some previous experience of precise measurement is useful, but not essential.
The course is designed for professionals and any others (Directors, senior managers and decision makers) who need to understand what BIM is, and how it works. Little or no previous experience is required.
