Procter Contracts’ experience in the design, manufacture and installation of gates goes back more than 100 years, and as the automation of gates increased over the decades, so we have been at the forefront of innovation and gate safety.

Automatic gates offer far more than manual gates, and are often essential because the weight and physical size of larger gates will normally require power to move them. Plus, security and other reasons such a safety will dictate that access systems are used, and automatic gates will normally represent a better use of manpower (as either no person or just one is required for their operation).

Our history
Procter Contracts is part of Procter Bros Ltd, a family-owned business with a history dating back to 1740. The business today operates four separate divisions: Machine Guarding, Contracts, Supplies, and Cast Stone.

By drawing on the combined capabilities of our separate divisions and their operating brands, we are able to provide a comprehensive offer to our customers, which results in them being able to deal with just one company handling a wide range of specialist products and services.

Customers trust us with the design, manufacture, supply and installation of fencing, gates and street furniture. If required, we can also conduct a site survey before embarking on the design phase. We always provide detailed quotations, so you can be sure there will be no hidden costs.

For powered gates, we also offer two further services: a free ‘specification check’ to verify that your powered-gate specification adequately addresses all safety aspects, and maintenance contracts to ensure our gates continue to operate safely and efficiently, and to help customers meet their legal obligations with regard to gate safety.
