Facing Bricks from Bricksmith
EH Smith are a leading supplier of clay facing bricks to the construction industry. With access to a comprehensive range from leading manufacturers including Wienerberger, Ibstock and Hanson, EH Smith are confident they can offer the variety of colour, shade, tone and texture demanded by today's construction industry.
Facing bricks are a safe and long lasting building material. Their unique absorption properties contribute to a healthy living climate, whilst their strength ensures that ongoing maintenance costs are negligible. In addition, when used in cavity wall construction, facing bricks can also provide a valuable and effective barrier against noise pollution.
Engineering Bricks
Engineering bricks are manufactured to be denser and stronger than ordinary facing bricks. They are supplied in accordance with two different classifications, Class A and Class B. This is based on minimum compressive strength and maximum water absorption not falling below 70 N/mm2 - 4.5% and 50 N/mm2 - 7% respectively. Engineering bricks are designed for use where strength and low levels of water absorption are paramount; traditionally this may be on applications such as retaining walls or for ground works.

Special Shaped Bricks
EH Smith offer a full range of special shaped bricks to compliment their stock of standard facing bricks. EH Smith source specials from all leading brick manufactures such as Ibstock, Hanson and Wienerberger and are able to offer all standard British shapes. As well as common red and blue smooth colours, EH Smith also offer Special Shapes in all brick types; enabling them to offer customers with a Special Shaped Brick matching service. EH Smith also has access to a factory facility enabling them to offer a bespoke cut and bond service that utilises the latest in cutting technology.
All EH Smith special shaped bricks are manufactured to the highest standards and adhere to stringent dimensional requirements in accordance with BS 4729: 2005
