Secondary Glazing

Laminated Glass
Available only in 6.4mm thickness. 6.4mm laminated consists of two pieces of glass laminated together with a very tough and durable plastic. When broken it will still remain integral due to the plastic between the glass, remaining safe even when broken. We recommend to our clients that this type of glass would be suitable for security or acoustic purposes.

Pilkington K Glass
Pilkington K Glass can be supplied in 4&6mm float & Toughened. Mostly used for draught proofing it also provides additional energy saving benefits. Pilkington K Glass is the original hard coated, pyrolytic low-emissivity coated thermal glass, it has become the reliable solution for meeting building regulations concerning energy efficiency.

Stadip Glass
This type off glass is a specialist glass manufactured by Saint Gobain. Acoustic Stadip Laminated Glass has outstanding benefits when used for sound proofing. SGG Stadip Silence is an acoustic laminated safety glass, consisting of two or more sheets of glass bonded together by one or more acoustic Polyvinyl Butyral interlayers, known as PVB (A).

Toughened Glass
We supply toughened glass in 4-6mm. Toughened Glass is best suited for the application of draught proofing. Toughened glass or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension.

Sound Proofing
We use a specialist 6.4mm acoustic glass called stadip silence laminate. The glass consists of two pieces of 3mm glass with a 0.4mm membrane in the middle. the glass is baked in a oven to bond the 3 pieces together creating a solid unit. In any circumstance for sound proofing we always recommend a gap of 100mm between your original windows and our secondary glazing system this ensures a sufficient air gap to effectively reduce noise.
