About David Bowler & Sons
Since our establishment in 1944 David Bowler & Sons have built up an excellent reputation for being one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of quality metal pressings & deep drawn components.
Over the years significant investment has been made in our facilities, personnel & systems, enabling us to meet the varying needs of volume press-work production, from highly complex parts to components that are needed in challenging environments. Our team of highly skilled and experienced engineers have gained in-valuable expertise in producing metal presswork in a variety of materials for diverse industries, which include: Automotive, Defence, Aerospace, Electronics, Metal Packaging, Public Utilities, Heating and Ventilation markets.
We work closely with engineers and professional buyers requiring metal stampings & presswork within the construction and building industry. Whether its electrical housing pressed parts, enclosures or heating & ventilation presswork, our team have the capabilities and experience to deliver quality metal stampings & components on time and to exacting requirements.
Deep Drawn Presswork & Pressings
We have two extensive facilities which offer a varied range of metal pressing operations, from large “Tranemo” highly productive hydraulic power metal presswork up to 315 tons to several smaller “Hare” hydraulic machines for quick metal forming operations.
Another key strength of David Bowler & Sons is within our range of Rhodes, Stanko, Aida & Edelhoff mechanical power presses, differing from 130 to 400 tons. Tool protection systems are fitted in place for high tonnage presswork, ensuring smooth running & minimal down time. Our shop floor also consists of many other smaller mechanical presses from Aida, HME & MABU to meet the varying needs of volume complex metal pressings & deep drawn components.
Progression & Transfer Tooling
Our tool room offers a good combination of wire erosion technology, CNC milling, turning & several grinding operations - altogether ensuring that single, progression & transfer tooling is manufactured in-house to a very high standard. This uncompromising approach to quality, ensures our clients receive a reliable source of volume pressed parts on time & at competitive price.
Tool protection systems are fitted in place for both small and high ton pressing operations, ensuring smooth running and minimal down time. This ultimately results in general reduction in maintenance for clients tools.
Tooling
We have a fully equipped tool room including a CNC Milling machine, Colchester Lathe, standard Bridgeport Milling Machine and various Surface and Cylindrical grinding machines.
We also have a FANUC Robocut wire erosion machine, with CAD software to allow customer parts to be programmed direct to the machine.
Our skilled and experienced Tool room staff can manufacture tooling from customer drawings as well as maintain the total range of tooling used in the factory including the manufacture and supply of spare parts.
Quality
A dedicated inspection department is in place for fully examined, tested & quality assured components & precision pressings. We utilise the latest in co-ordinate measuring and a variety of electronic measuring equipment & gauges for the consistent supply of zero defect parts every time!
We are a ISO 9001:2008 / 14001:2004 quality approve company and take great care in delivering only the very best tested stamped parts & metal pressings to exact customer specification.
