Landlords
As a landlord it is your responsibility to provide a safe house for your tenants to live in. It is recommended that you have the electrical installation of the property regularly inspected as proof that it is electrically safe and sound. This would normally be every 5 years or on a change of occupancy.

Renting (Council or Housing Assosication)
It is important for a tennant to know the property they are renting is safe. Ask to see an Landlords Certificate or Electrical Installation Condition Report to confirm the electrics in the house are safe to use. You can have additional work carried out on the property. You must ask permission from the owner of the property first, and always use a qualified competant electrician to carry out the work.

Restorations & Renovations
