CGS (Glazing) Ltd is a family-run glazing, uPVC and composite door installation company with locations in Burnley and Preston.

Operating throughout the North West, we install only premium quality uPVC frames, energy-efficient A-rated glass and certified secure composite doors.

It all began with misty windows
Nick Emmott has worked in the glazing industry since the early ’90s and began operating as a sole trader under the CGS name in 1996. During this period CGS was the only company in the area specialising in misted window repair, where we would replace misty windows that have condensation in between the glass panels. This service offers our customers the opportunity to save hundreds of pounds by having misty windows replaced while retaining the existing uPVC, timber or aluminium frame.

As our company’s reputation grew we began to diversify, offering uPVC window installation, composite door fitting services, uPVC door installation, conservatory installation and repairs. In 2003 CGS registered with Companies House and CGS (Glazing) Ltd was born, with Matthew Pickles joining the company around this time.

Although the company has grown significantly since the early ’90s the core principle behind the operation remains the same: that if the service we provide isn’t good enough for our own homes, then it’s not good enough for you as a customer.

Replacement double glazed units for blown windows
Condensation in double glazing not only looks unsightly but the thermal and noise reducing properties of the blown windows is compromised. The only effective way to resolve this is double glazing panel replacement.

While many companies will replace the whole window, frame and all, this isn’t necessary. CGS will replace just the blown double glazing unit, retaining the existing uPVC, aluminium or timber frame and potentially saving you hundreds of pounds.
