About JTL Training
JTL is one of the largest work-based learning providers in England and Wales. Working with over 3000 businesses from large corporations to small local suppliers, we train more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector.
About Apprenticeships and JTL
At JTL we are helping thousands of young people in England and Wales to launch exciting careers as electricians, plumbers, heating and ventilating engineers and engineering maintenance operatives in the building services engineering sector through apprenticeship training.
Apprenticeships are work-based, government funded, training programmes for young people aged 16 and over. They are a great way to combine practical training in a job whilst studying. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience and learn skills that employers want, helping them to develop rewarding future careers.
JTL has been delivering apprenticeship training to the building services engineering sector, which forms part of the construction industry, for over 25 years. We train more apprentices than anyone else in the sector and pride ourselves in delivering high quality, work-based learning across over 100 centres throughout England and Wales.
Apprenticeship Courses
Electrical Apprenticeships
Electricians are likely to be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical services. As a JTL apprentice you'll be in full time employment with a local company receiving a good wage from day one. You'll spend time learning your trade by gaining hands-on-experience working on-site with your employer, as well as attending a JTL approved college or training centre to learn the theoretical knowledge you will need. The JTL electrical apprenticeship is an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 lasting approximately four years.
Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeships
Plumbers put in, look after and fix the plumbing inside and outside buildings. The exact job depends on the employer, though all plumbers have the skills and knowledge to get the job done properly and safely. Plumbing apprenticeships and apprenticeships in general are the ideal options for many young people, especially those who have decided full-time study is not for them.
Heating and Ventilating Apprenticeships
Heating and ventilating engineers commission, design and put in big, complex systems in buildings like office blocks, hospitals and schools. These systems create a comfortable environment for the people who visit. This qualification can lead to a career as a service and maintenance engineer, fitter or welder, or ductwork installer.
Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeships
Maintenance engineers look after and fix engineered systems inside and outside buildings. The exact job depends on the employer, though all engineers have the skills and knowledge to get the job done properly and safely. The JTL maintenance engineer apprenticeship is an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 lasting approximately four years.
Building Services Engineering Apprenticeship
The building services engineering apprenticeships cover two distinct job roles: Installers and Craftsperson’s. An apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering could be for you if you are fascinated about finding out more about how things work. During the apprenticeship, you will prepare yourself for a career in installing industrial and commercial systems. This can mean working in buildings like office blocks, schools, factories and hospitals. When you’re in a Building Services Engineering apprenticeship, you work alongside experienced experts and specialists who can pass their knowledge onto you and help you build on your existing knowledge constantly.
Traineeships
Traineeships are a new and exciting opportunity to help young people aged 16-18 to get ready for a career, providing the foundations for a better future. Being work-ready opens doors, and provides the skills and confidence you need to take the first step in your career.
JTL's programme includes:
Our professional development courses are accredited by IOSH, ILM, EAL and C&G; in addition to tailored solutions designed to meet your specific needs. Our courses are designed for those who are already qualified and within the industries.
