We employed Kyle Court (KC Roofing) to check our slates, renew a rotten fascia & guttering and do pointing where necessary. Kyle seemed unwilling to do a proper quote for any of the work though and from the start & seemed to have no proper tools for these jobs. He borrowed our extension lead, our pointing grinder and disc, our wheelbarrow and our ladders etc.

From the outset, Kyle wanted money up front, almost daily, due to reasons like his lorry had broken down, bad cashflow, lost bank cards, the labourers needed wages etc.

After an initial flurry of activity, the no-shows started. He said he needed £800 for the scaffolding. The no-shows increased with excuses ranging from his aunt being in hospital, being unable to find scaffolding to hire (he’s a roofer don’t forget) and nationwide material shortage. The little amount of work done was of a poor standard: drainage channels (3 attempts) which went nowhere, a small amount of pointing that was done up to eye-level (with my tools) looked like a child had done it and the dampcourse was pathetic.

It was around this time Kyle developed a heart condition which prevented him answering texts/calls,
seemingly unconcerned that we had no drainage, guttering or downpipes after employing him for 3 months.
Since then, KC Roofing aka Kyle Court has refused to reimburse us for the non-supply of used scaffolding and a micro digger, let alone incomplete work which has left our walls damp and without ANY guttering! He promised to start a payment plan and missed the first payment – and subsequent ones of course so we will have to seek compensation through the banking and legal system.
CONCLUSION: Kyle took our money, spent it and we never received the promised work – another way of putting it is that KC Roofing stole our money because they will not even reimburse a fraction of it. Would we recommend employing them? Never in a million years would we wish this company upon our worst enemy. They were late or never showed up, they demanded money up front, the workmanship was poor, Kyle consistently lied to us and we underwent an enormous amount of stress dealing with KC Roofing who ultimately left our house in a worse condition than when they started, roof-wise.
