Applications for Gabion Baskets
Stabilisation of earth movement - Gabion baskets are used in many situations, including the stabilisation of earth movement and erosion, river control, reservoirs, canal refurbishment, landscaping and retaining walls. Welded mesh gabions are faster to erect and do not need tensioning. This allows them to keep their shape, to be free from bulges and depressions and fit easily against the wall. It is possible to cut holes in them if needed to pass pipes through and welded gabion baskets can also be machine filled.

Fine Mesh Metals Ltd are not structural engineers. The designs on this page are suggestions based on industry standard designs. Gabion wall designs are very robust. These designs in general are the basis for any designs produced by structural engineers. However, there are ground types and situations where the designs will not be sufficient. If your situation involves having a building, road etc on top of it, or you are putting them on very soft clay, then it would be advised to contact a suitably experienced and qualified Consulting Engineer, thus ensuring the most appropriate advice being provided and supported by professional indemnity insurance. This has implications in respect of Health and Safety being adequately addressed. The client has an obligation to ensure all persons engaged in the undertaking of the works are suitably experienced and qualified, thus being familiar with the construction process and associated risks to health and safety.

Gabion Fencing Systems

As it's not a product we manufacture, the lead time is up to 4 weeks. Minimum of 4 units.
As standard comes in Green or Black. Also available in a more expensive Galvanized finish as per photos.
This is a solution for narrow free standing fencing walls. Especially suitable for dividing partitions and concealing areas such as bin stores. They offer privacy and security with the look of a gabion wall. Can be filled with Sedums to make a living wall. Double Wire panels are exceptionally strong due to the narrower meshes and heavy duty wire.
Stone size should be 3 inches to 4 inch. Angular stone is more effective than round pebbles.
