About the Federation

Introduction

Stone Federation is the official trade association for the natural stone industry. The Federation co-ordinates all aspects of the industry and provides specifiers and users with a first point of contact for information, advice and guidance in sourcing an appropriate material and a reliable service.

Representation

Stone Federation represents employers, liaises with government on legal affairs, health and safety, technical standards, craftsmanship, training and education. Make Stone Federation Great Britain and its members first point of contact for choosing and using stone and for quality assured advice, material and specialist services to ensure success.

Stone Federation GB provides a one-stop shop for product information, technical guidance and advice on all aspects of specifying and working with stone.

Mission Statement

Stone Federation will provide the highest possible levels of service to, and representation for, its members, both individually and collectively:-

• Promote the interests of its members within the construction industry as a whole
• Educate specifiers in the correct use and maintenance of natural stone
• Provide professional, quality services to its members

Natural Stone. The oldest sustainable material
The oldest rocks on Earth have been dated at some 4 billion years old. The very mechanism of earth building is ultimately a continuous process of rock formation, consumption and sustainable re-generation. Natural Stone used o construction projects provides the timeless essence of solidity, quality and prestige and mirrors the basic mechanism of earth building as stone is worked for new build projects and subsequently reused with time. The ideal cradle of grave material.

Stone is already ahead of almost all building materials in its green credentials. This doesn’t mean the industry can rest. We will continue to innovate and drive the environmental costs of using stone ever downwards. Our message is clear: Stone is environmentally the right choice and will continue to be.

Architects
Stone Federation Great Britain is the trade association for the natural stone industry. We are passionate about promoting the use of natural stone as a beautiful, sustainable building material.

We provide Architects with a wide range of resources, technical advice services and networking opportunities as part of the Federation's Architects' Club.
