Fire Extinguisher Annual Servicing
It is a legal requirement to have fire extinguishers inspected annually, and the responsible person may be liable for prosecution of being uninsured for fire loss in the event of fire.

The Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) (Fire Safety) 2005 covers fire safety legislation for non-domestic premises in England and Wales. This order states that appropriate fire-fighting equipment, including portable fire extinguishers, must be provided where there may be a fire risk.

Fire Extinguisher Refill Test Discharge
Did you know that once a fire extinguisher has been in service for 5 years or more, it will require an Extended Service? If your fire extinguisher hasn’t had an Extended Service and has been in service for over 5 years, get in touch with Compliance Fire Ltd. We can visit your site, to ensure that your extinguishers will work in the event of a fire emergency.

An Extended Service will include a Test Discharge of your fire extinguishers to ensure that they function correctly. Such tests need to be undertaken every 5 years for water, powder and foam extinguishers, and every 10 years for CO2. Once we have completed a Test Discharge, we will then inspect the inside of the extinguisher to ensure that the body, head or other part hasn’t been contaminated.
