TRADE CUSTOMERS


Can I apply for a trade account?
Yes, put simply, if you are a registered UK business, limited company, partnership, or charity and are registered for VAT in the UK then you can apply for a trade account, just email us at trade@ecomerchant.co.uk to request an account application form. We do not offer credit terms to sole traders.

We require you to have placed a minimum of two pro forma orders with us before we can accept an application for a trade account. If you would like to discuss terms or know more about opening a trade account, please call our sales team on 01793 847 444 or email trade@ecomerchant.co.uk

Can I use my trade account to buy online?
Not at the moment, all our trade customers simply email in their orders and are priced on agreed terms.

Will I get an account?
We use a third-party credit reference agency, and we always follow up on references, as long as both are returned and exceed the minimum standards required by our credit control team you will be offered a credit limit on you new trade account. Please understand that we sometimes refuse credit based on information supplied to us.

How much credit can I have?
Credit accounts are opened at our discretion and are subject to satisfactory references – see above. We will set a maximum amount of credit allowable upon each account after offering an initial limit credit limits are normally only increased after a successful trading history has been built up between us.

We reserve the right to withdraw credit facilities at any time without explanation.

What happens if I fail to pay my account on time?
If you fail to pay us we will put your account on stop, if you do not make any payment to us by the due date, we may charge interest to you on the overdue amount at the rate of 8% a year above the base lending rate of the Bank of England. This interest shall accrue daily from the due date until the date of actual payment of the overdue amount. You must pay us interest together with any overdue amount.

Payments made to an account may at our discretion restore your ability to borrow again (in which case it shall be up to the limit). You agree that we may obtain, retain, and provide to third parties, references as to your financial standing.

All accounts are subject to our standard Terms and Conditions of Supply.
