Our engineers bring a wealth of knowledge and skill, having up to 25 years’ experience in the biomass boiler industry who have worked on many hundreds of commercial biomass boilers ranging from 25kW to 3,500kW. BBSM was one of the first companies in the UK to be accredited to HETAS MCS040 and all our engineers are fully accredited.

Boiler Installation
As industry leaders, we specialise in delivering full turnkey solutions from small-scale commercial wood pellet boiler systems to large scale multi-megawatt industrial wood chip boiler systems operating at low or high temperature hot water and steam. BBSM often operates as principal designer and principal contactor under CDM and manage every aspect of the project from conception to commissioning.

New installs are based on our designs and specifications, including boiler assembly, full plant room mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning training and handover using only experienced BBSM engineers.

Specification & System Design
Our services include creating bespoke sustainable heating solutions by drawing up schematics, detailed drawings, biomass boiler selection and specifications for installations and retrofits. Our dedicated team of professionals navigates the entire design process, ensuring precision at every step.

Our skilled experts develop 2D and 3D layout drawings, provide a visual blueprint for your biomass boiler project. Whether you're embarking on a new installation or retrofitting an existing system, our meticulous design process ensures optimal efficiency, seamless integration, and compliance with the highest industry standards. Our commitment extends to full mechanical and electrical design, providing hydraulic and electrical schematic. Our scope includes design, build and installation of Building Management System (BMS) control systems where required, providing a holistic approach to your biomass boiler project.

District Heating
Community and district heating, involving the centralised supply and distribution of heat through underground pipes, represents a cost-effective alternative for heating multiple homes or buildings.

District heating, particularly using biomass as the main fuel source, is widespread across Europe. While district heating currently only meets 1-2% of the UK's heat demand, research suggests the potential to cover up to 14%. Particularly beneficial for large sites like schools, hospitals, businesses, and rural estates.

District and community biomass heating systems not only break free from fossil fuel costs but also leverage government incentives like the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), transforming a financial burden into a profitable and sustainable solution.
