The event, hosted by Federation Chair Matthew Taylor, and Chief Executive David Orr, was attended by MPs from each of the three major parties – including former Housing Ministers David Curry MP, Nick Raynsford MP and Caroline Flint MP.
Mr Taylor and Mr Orr both addressed the event, which was also attended by three peers, and highlighted the major points in the manifesto – which lists the policies that the next government should introduce to deal with the nation’s housing crisis.
Federation members from across the country also attended the event.
The publication also makes clear how housing associations can help deliver both the desperately needed economic recovery and thousands of new affordable homes for the millions in housing need.
The Tools for success includes sections on:
- Building homes and using unsold properties
- Making our housing greener
- Reforming the allocations policy
- Improving access to home ownership
- Supporting vulnerable and older people
- Tackling financial exclusion and fuel poverty
