The Lambeth nominated schemes are a mixed bag. There are examples of new build schemes as well as extension and refurbishments projects. All of the projects demonstrate how conservation and heritage assets can, through care and sensitive planning, lead to major regeneration benefits.
Lambeth's nominated schemes are:
- Clapham Manor Primary School, Belmont Road, Clapham - a contemporary four storey extension adjoining a Victorian Board School in the Clapham conservation area
- One Vale Street, West Norwood - a sustainable housing development with a mix of affordable tenures on the site of the former Council depot adjacent to West Norwood Cemetery
- Trinity Hospice, 30 Clapham Common North Side - a refurbishment of Grade II listed buildings with an additional 28-bed wing with integrated day centre in Clapham Conservation area
- Health Professions Council Headquarters, 20 and 22-26 Stannary Street - façade restoration, building refurbishment and alterations to connect the two buildings for single use (located within the Kennington Conservation area)
- Elm Court School, Elm Park - relocation of school as part of BSF programme to Edwardian building located in the Rush Common/Brixton Hill conservation area. (internal refurbishment and erection of glass stair tower)
- Wingate Square, 63 Old Town, Clapham - refurbishment of the retained facades and extension of 53-59 Old Town and the construction of 170 new dwellings (located in the Clapham Conservation area)
