A Liverpool-based engineering company has designed a new product that has revolutionised the anti-theft sector of the UK HGV trailer industry.
The Airlock device has been developed for the prevention of theft by I O K Engineering and easily and securely protects the trailer from unauthorised movement.
Airlock secures the trailer by isolating the pneumatic air brake hose to prevent brake activation.
"It is easy to use, fast to fit and will replace the need for security-coded keys," said Brian Khan, who established I O K Engineering in 1989.
"The device is an anti-theft locking unit, designed for stand-alone trailers which works by maintaining parked trailer immobility by preventing air brake release," he continued.
It prevents both cargo and trailer theft and was developed by Brian with a crack team of engineers, who have established a exceptional reputation within the engineering industry by offering a bespoke engineering service approach to all client needs.
The pocket-sized Airlock unit simply snaps onto the trailer red line and is automatically locked using a unique system.
"Airlock can be supplied to suit individual needs (with one key fitting all units or with one key for each, as needed," said the engineer, noting that it is supplied in red or yellow, as required, and is available direct from the manufacturer.
He also explained that it is a unique, all steel, fully integral locking system that is also tamper-proof. There is also no need to retrofit trailers.
"Airlock is a revolutionary security locking system for HGV trailers and its innovative design has proven itself to be the clear leader in trailer usage safety and against trailer theft," concluded Mr Khan.
