The £3.5m contract will take 29 weeks and will be completed in March 2010. The works will see the original 1960s style offices transformed into modern open plan, air conditioned office space fit for 21st century policing.
Chris Dyer, Director Midlands Region, said: "Sisk has wide-ranging experience in the refurbishment arena, particularly in live environment situations where sensitivity and care as well as delivery to time and budget are key priorities."
The programme of works has been a four-staged process and the first two stages, for the administrative departments, have already been completed. Sisk will take on the last two stages that will comprise:
- Strip out of existing fittings and finishes
- Forming new meeting rooms, cellular offices
- Refurbishment of existing detention facilities to meet current Home Office requirements
- Installation of new M & E systems
- Provision of temporary offices on site for relocated WPA staff for the duration of the works
- Provision of temporary detention facilities throughout the duration of the works
- Window replacement and external repair works to facades and roof
"The improvement to police buildings demonstrates the commitment of Warwickshire Police to improve policing services for the people of Warwickshire."
