Training The Smart Way

Construction News Image
Smart Platform Rental Ltd, the UK's largest provider of light truck mount self drive rental platforms, concludes the year with its head office becoming IPAF's newest Training Centre.

"We've taken this step now since our recent move to larger state of the art Hemel Hempstead offices and the influx of new customers using us made it the perfect time to offer this," stated Guy Willett, Commercial Director. "Importantly, it will mean that we'll also be able to now offer IPAF training directly at our Midlands branch and on client's sites."

In addition, Smart has expanded the training services it provides with the inclusion of both IPAF’s scissor lift and self propelled boom courses.

"After extensive research into our customer’s training needs we saw the opportunity to offer a one stop training service to clients. We're also offering IPAF’s harness inspection courses since a large proportion of our client base purchase their access related PPE equipment directly through us."

The initiative also coincides with the company promoting the greater adoption of these safety accessories. "We have been enthusiastic promoter's of IPAF's Clunk Click Campaign since its inception and we're now offering harnesses with integrated hi-vis vests and quick snap fittings from both our South East and Midlands sites. In addition to this we are offering a new range of wind meters which have been particularly popular due to the weather we've had recently," stated Guy.

With the new training centre comes a new permanent trainer, Steve Prill, who is relishing the challenge. "I've long been involved with the health and safety as well as the training elements of the company," said Steve. "With great locations and competitively priced courses I’m looking forward to working with our current customers and new prospects who are looking for great value IPAF training."
