On seeing the first images of Cathelco's proposed new Headquarters and Production facility it was clear that this visually striking building was sure to receive a great deal of local interest and attention and Jaybuild were determined to be involved in its construction.
The project was secured by a competitive Design and Build tender with novated professionals.
From an early stage we recognised that this unusual project was technically challenging and to meet the clients exacting requirements great attention to detail was required in developing the design.
The scheme comprises of a high quality three storey office accommodation and a combination of single and two storey production and storage areas together with associated amenities. These facilities are housed in a distinctive envelope with proprietary full height trimo wall cladding panels, a wave roof and masts reaching a height of 20 metres.
The air conditioned offices are fitted out to the highest standards with proprietary partitions, raised computer access floors, a glazed lift and welsh slate to the ground floor reception area.
The offices are naturally lit by a feature glazed atrium and curtain walling utilising automatic brise soleil to control solar gain.
All mechanical and electrical services were designed to incorporate the most up to date technologies and are fully controlled to minimise energy use and environmental impact.
