The announcement at the international property fair MIPIM demonstrates the LDA’s confidence in the market in London and will capitalise on the transformation of east London, sparked by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The six sites represent the latest phase of a strategy to reappraise each piece of LDA-owned land, with a view to develop or dispose of the larger sites within the next five years or so.
The six sites announced are:
- Parcelforce site, Stephenson Street, West Ham, Newham. 13.2 hectares by West Ham tube station, for high density housing and mixed use development
- Silvertown Way, Canning Town, Newham. 2.4 hectares, at the western end of the Royal Docks, for mixed use development
- Albert Basin, Royal Docks, Newham. 11.92 hectares, by Gallions Reach DLR station - three separate sites for mixed use development
- Chequers Corner, Dagenham. 0.8 hectares, on A13 in South Dagenham, for housing-led mixed use development
- Beam Park, Dagenham. 10.44 hectares, on the old Ford factory site, for housing, education, community, leisure, recreational or retail use
- Beam Reach 6, Rainham. 7.05 hectares, next to A13 Choats Manor Way, for a sustainable business park and c 30,000m² of business space.
