Denne And Co Plan Estates Appointed For £50m Regeneration Project
Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group, have been selected as the preferred development partner by Canterbury City Council for the £50 million mixed use redevelopment of a council owned cark park within the heart of Herne Bay.
Initial proposals for the site include a new 60,000 sq ft food store, additional retail and A3 uses, medical centre and 75 residential apartments.
The appointment, which was confirmed by the Canterbury City Council Executive in December 2009, will allow Canterbury to enter into an exclusivity period with the developer during which the scheme can be progressed with a view to submitting a planning application by the end of 2010.
Graham Brown, Managing Director, Denne, said: "This partnership with Coplan is testament to the expertise that both parties can bring to the project. We look forward to providing the people of Herne Bay with a town centre of which they can be proud."
