Rockwool, www.rockwool.co.uk, the world's leading manufacturer of non-combustible stone wool insulation solutions, has produced a new guide on how its insulation systems and solutions can help those involved in the construction or refurbishment of educational facilities.
The guide, available through Rockwool's website, is aimed at improving awareness and understanding of Rockwool’s systems, solutions and services amongst architects, specifiers and builders.
Rockwool can help reduce the distraction caused by external and internal noise sources through its outstanding acoustic abilities, reduce energy bills through thermal insulation and even help prevent the spread of – and subsequent damage caused by – flames in the event of a fire.
The guide outlines how Rockwool products can help meet a range of design requirements throughout the building envelope and deliver consistent, long-lasting and high-performing insulation for the education environment. Additionally, as Rockwool insulation is made from totally renewable resources and is 97% recyclable, Rockwool provides for a more environmentally friendly future in construction.
The guide also contains a case study of a site currently benefiting from Rockwool's dedication to helping students achieve their potential – the new Golden Lane Campus near the Barbican in London, housing the Richard Cloudesley School and the Prior Weston School & Children’s Centre.
Leo Hassett, Rockwool's Sales Director UK & Ireland said: "Education is an important sector for Rockwool. Public infrastructure is going through a period of considerable growth – largely thanks to increased Government investment in the sector. Moreover, the capabilities of our products are ideally suited to meeting the specific requirements of educational facilities which aim to create an environment conducive to learning.
"We are proud that Rockwool's product range can already be found in schools not only across the UK but also around the world and that its high-performance products are trusted to ensure the best environment possible for learning."

Rockwool provides a four-in-one insulation solution, providing high grade thermal insulation, noise insulation, non-combustible and strong environmental credentials. This year alone, the insulation products produced by Rockwool will save more than 200 million tonnes of CO2. Rockwool insulation is also completely recyclable and can be re-smelted and spun into new stone wool insulation rolls and panels.
