The backyard of a typical terrace home in Workington has been transformed into a desirable decked haven thanks to the addition of BSW timber decking and some colourful shrubbery and foliage.
Homeowner Lorraine Ryan wanted to convert her mundane patio into an enjoyable, low maintenance outdoor space. Lorraine livened up her back yard by replacing the dreary paving stones with natural timber decking resulting in a stylish urban look.
Ian Stephenson of Homemaker in Cumbria installed BSW Timeless Timber to deck the area. He said: "I always use Timeless Timber for any decking projects I work on because the quality is unmatched by any other product. Lorraine wanted to liven up her back yard but still wanted an area that was easy to maintain so we decked most of the area using timeless timber leaving a natural finish.
"We added some blue and red decorative stones and chippings to add to the dynamics of the area as well as some planters and tall shrubs placed strategically around the space ensuring that the area was simply stunning and easy to maintain."
The end result is a surprising contrast to the terraced front of the house and provides a relaxing outdoor refuge - perfect for hosting summer barbeques and enjoying the great British weather.
Lorraine said: "It's perfect. I can now come out here and enjoy my time outside and don’t have to spend lots of time looking after it. It works very well for my lifestyle and I now look forward to some al fresco entertaining this year!"
The decking was created using Timeless Timber, produced by BSW Timber, the UK’s largest sawmill business. Bryan Crennell, BSW's Marketing Manager, said: "Timeless Timber Decking is the perfect complement to this kind of low maintenance external project. Its classic design and high quality material provides a natural contrast to the subtlety of colour provided by the paving and greenery."
He added: "We have developed a preservative treatment for Timeless Timber Decking called Timeless Pro-wax to extend the protection of the wood from the external elements. This ensures outstanding durability and versatility, and our 20-year guarantee ensures that Timeless Timber can add significant value to your property over the longer term."
