People living on or near the Myatt's Field North estate in the south of the borough, Lambeth, have until 10 May to comment on proposals for a £114 million regeneration project.

The major project will transform the outdated Myatt's Field North council estate into a state-of-the-art community housing scheme.

The scheme will include:

• 305 new homes for some existing residents
• modernisation and refurbishment of 172 existing homes
• replacement landscaped park and sports facilities
• new community centre
• 146 new affordable homes
• 357 new homes for sale
• new streets and green spaces
• combined heat and power plant providing heat and hot water
• refurbishment of commercial units

Regenter, Lambeth Council's partner organisation for this project, has submitted a planning application outlining their vision for the new estate and the council's planning team want to hear what local people think of these plans.


The deadline for those wanting to comment on the planning application is 10 May.

Dorian Leatham, Lambeth Council's Executive Director of Housing and Regeneration, said: "This regeneration project heralds a fantastic opportunity for people living on the estate. Not only will they benefit from new or refurbished homes, they will also be able to enjoy new community facilities that will help to strengthen the already thriving community spirit that exits there."
